Northwest Frontage Road Information

The existing frontage road between Auburn and Dundee will remain in place and will be connected into the new roadway project. The existing sidewalk along that frontage road will be replaced. A new frontage road will be installed at the west end of the project to provide access control for existing lots that currently front directly onto 45th Street. The City of Bel Aire has established a policy that any new paved non-arterial road construction that is primarily designed to serve homes adjacent to a new roadway shall be paid for by the residents served by the road. As such, the new frontage road pavement will be constructed using special assessments to be paid by the adjacent properties. The addition of this frontage will limit the driveways directly onto 45th Street North and provide a safer experience for all users of the roadway including those residents.
