The City of Bel Aire is proposing a transformation of a section of 45th Street North from Oliver to Woodlawn by replacing the existing asphalt mat and open ditch roadway with a three-lane curb and gutter urban arterial pavement. Additionally, it includes the installation of deceleration lanes, a new northwest frontage road, and the realignment of the entrance to Sunrise Christian Academy.
The project team is evaluating two options for traffic improvements at the intersection: a signalized intersection or roundabout. Furthermore, the project includes the replacement and enhancement of bike and pedestrian paths and crossings to improve overall safety with the schools in close proximity.
